Accommodation

Germany offers a variety of possible accommodation of very high standard and quality. There are strict standards, which have to be followed and each hotel or guesthouse can participate in a voluntary star-rating scheme, which is comparable to the international star rating standards.
We prefer an accommodation in the countryside, as these places show the typical German lifestyle. If this is not possible you will enjoy a pleasant or best available hotel in town, which could either be in German or international style.
You can choose between two categories of accommodation, boutique or luxury accommodation. In the boutique category we will find small pleasant hotels with nice rooms and a good restaurant. In the luxury category you will sleep in the best available hotels and eat in the best restaurants around the area. We will avoid chain hotels, except if their is no other choice.
All the rooms in either category will be comfortable and quiet and include a private bathroom. You will find a television and a telephone in most of the rooms around Germany, but we can't guarantee this for each night. It is not common to have air conditioning in Germany as the climate does not demand this feature. As a default we will book non-smoking rooms.

Boutique category
You will stay at small, pleasant hotels, most of the times outside town or even in the countryside. We choose a picturesque setting, preferable with extensive views, quiet neighborhood and romantic atmosphere. There is a limited number of rooms in the hotel or guesthouse and you will enjoy privacy and German hospitality. In case there is no such hotel available, we will book a pleasant hotel in a different category.
Luxury category
We will find the best available accommodation for you in the area we are stopping. The hotels will offer a lot of features like sauna, swimming pool, massages and more, but we can't promise that you have all these services each day. You will be situated either in the city or in the countryside, depending on the location of the best available hotel. You can enjoy dinner at the best available restaurant and drink the finest wine or beer, which are both German specialities.
